An important part of the Chamber's mission is to strengthen communication between the Chamber membership and state and local government to insure that the interests of the Orleans County business community are understood and duly considered when public policy is being formulated. To accomplish this, the Chamber seeks in involve members in analyzing and communicating the impact of public policy issues on their businesses. Members help create and utilize positions and policies to advance a pro-business agenda.

Policies for Business Climate:
The Orleans County Chamber of Commerce acknowledges the widespread economic and social importance of the agriculture industry in Orleans County. The Chamber encourages the continued support and promotion of Orleans County’s agriculture industry.
Recognizing the long-standing importance of the Orleans County 4-H Fair to the agricultural industry, the tourism industry, the youth, and the general public, the Orleans County Chamber of Commerce encourages the continuation of the Fair, sponsored by the Orleans County Cornell Cooperative Extension, with the continued support of the Orleans County Legislature.
The Orleans County Chamber of Commerce encourages a healthy balance of businesses within the County that foster and maintain healthy competition within the marketplace and realize the value of businesses that contribute to our local economy and community.
